How to set up an IPTV box (MAG and compatible boxes)

MAG boxes are dedicated IPTV receivers with a simple remote and a familiar TV-guide layout. They activate by their MAC address, so we need it before your service starts.

Compatible devices

  • MAG 520, 522, 524, 540 and newer
  • Other portal-based set-top boxes that support Stalker-type portals
  • Older MAG 250/254: supported but slower menus

Steps

  1. Send us your MAC address

It’s printed on the label under the box (starts with 00:1A:79). Add it to your order note or reply to your activation email.

  2. Connect the box

HDMI to the TV, Ethernet to your router (strongly recommended), then power on.

  3. Open the portal settings

Settings → System settings → Servers → Portals.

  4. Enter the portal URL

Type the portal name and URL from your activation email exactly, then Save.

  5. Restart the box

Settings → Reboot. The portal loads and your guide appears.

  6. Set the time zone

Settings → System settings → Time: choose your Canadian city (for example America/Toronto or America/Vancouver).

Common problems

“Authorization failed” or “STB blocked”The MAC address on file doesn’t match. Double-check the label and send us a photo if needed.

Frequently asked questions

Can a MAG box use Wi-Fi?

Some models have built-in Wi-Fi or accept a USB adapter, but MAG boxes perform best on Ethernet. If the router is far away, a powerline adapter is a reliable option.
