How to set up the IPTV program guide (EPG)

The electronic program guide (EPG) shows what’s on now and next. Canada spans six time zones, so the most important setting is telling the guide where you are.

Compatible devices

  • Every player app that supports an EPG
  • MAG boxes (built-in guide)

Steps

  1. Set the device clock to automatic

Turn on automatic date, time and time zone in the device’s system settings.

  2. Choose your time zone in the app

Pick the city that matches you — St. John’s, Halifax, Toronto/Montréal, Winnipeg, Regina, Edmonton or Vancouver.

  3. Load or refresh the guide

If your activation email includes a guide (EPG) address, add it in the app’s EPG settings. Then choose Update EPG.

  4. Wait for the first download

The first guide load can take a few minutes. Leave the app open.

  5. Adjust the time shift if needed

If listings are consistently one hour off, use the app’s EPG time-shift setting (+1 / −1).

Common problems

Saskatchewan times are off half the yearSaskatchewan doesn’t change clocks. Choose “Regina” (America/Regina), not Winnipeg or Edmonton.
“No information” on some channelsNot every channel has guide data. Refresh the EPG; if it stays empty, the listing isn’t available for that channel.
