City-by-city tips — Atlantic Canada

HalifaxFibre is widely available on the peninsula and in Dartmouth — 4K-ready on most plans.
Moncton, Saint John & FrederictonCanada’s only officially bilingual province: the site, guides and support work in both languages.
CharlottetownIsland-wide, a 2-connection plan covers the living room and a tablet.
St. John’sSet the guide to St. John’s — the half-hour offset trips up many apps’ defaults.

The half-hour that matters

Newfoundland Time is UTC−3:30, one of the few half-hour offsets in the world. If your guide shows programs starting at :30 when they should start on the hour, the app is set to Atlantic time. Choose St. John’s (America/St_Johns) and listings line up.

Storm season

After a power outage, restart the modem first, wait for its lights to settle, then restart your streaming device. Most “not working after the storm” problems are solved by that order alone.

To set guide times, see the EPG and time-zone guide. Prices are the same everywhere in Canada: see the plans.
